Gifted Education in The Karlovy Vary Region

The diploma thesis deals with the readiness of schools, primary school teachers and pedagogical-psychological centres of the Karlovy Vary Region for the inclusive education of gifted students. The first chapter of the theoretical part is devoted to current legislation and care in the education of gifted pupils. The thesis further describes the Karlovy Vary Region from the point of view of its socio-economic characteristics. Furthermore, the school policy and education of this region. which has its own specificities, is described in more detail. The last chapter of the theoretical part deals with the education of gifted students. The aim is to describe the typical forms of expressions of gifted pupils, forms of education and the role played by schools, teachers, and pedagogical-psychological centres in the education of these pupils. An important part of the gifted education is also their identification, which is sometimes more demanding than the education itself and several problems can arise during it. The last line summarizes the schools and organizations of the Karlovy Vary Region that are recommended by the Karlovy Vary Talent Support Network for the education and development of gifted pupils. Professional qualification of elementary school teachers of the Karlovy Vary region in relation to Act. No. 563/2004 Coll.

The paper analyzes the competence of teachers in elementary schools of the Karlovy Vary Region in the context of finding the opportunities, needs and problems of university degree-qualified teachers study in combined form. The main goal is to provide forecasts of fulfilling the conditions laid down by Act No. 563/2004 Coll., as amended by the prescribed professional qualification of teachers of primary schools by the end of 2014 with proposals to eliminate the potential risks of development. Based on the results obtained by analyzing the competence of primary school teachers, supply conditions and needs of university-qualified teachers combined study by questionnaire was possible to formulate a forecast level of competence of teachers in elementary level of the Karlovy Vary Region of 78.5 %. The development proposals for the elimination of risk can be regarded as a key respecting the needs of unqualified teachers, intensive collaboration with the municipalities as school founders in the region and ensure teacher participation in school projects Operational Programme Education for Competitiveness (ECOP) in the open field of educational study of Science.

Engagement of disabled people in the labor market in the Karlovy Vary region between 2000 and 2015

This dissertation examines engagement of people with disabilities in the Czech labor market over the course of last fifteen years, period between 2000 and 2015, focusing on the Karlovy Vary region. In the first section, author briefly introduces current state of Czech social policy together with related issues, which encompass unemployment, legal stance and characteristics of disabled people within national and international settings. The broader conceptualisation is subsequently illustrated by concrete examples of disabled people support, which is currently offered in the Czech Republic according to statistical data. Furthermore, author also considers case of specific situation in the Karlovy Vary region. Second part of the research presents an analysis of respondents involved in social policy and their opinions and personal experiences in the region. In particular, local labor market, employment policy and related topics relating to advantages and disadvantages with recent changes. In conclusion, author summarises main facts and research results.
Economic impacts of displacement of Sudeten Germans in the Karlovy Vary region

This bachelor thesis deals with the impact of forced displacement of German population on economic development of the Karlovy Vary region after the Second World War. Preliminary, the author weights up the role of Sudeten-Germans in the region in 1918--1945. Afterwards, he focuses on transfer of German-speaking inhabitants from the region after resumption of the Czech Republic. This thesis analyses immediate consequences of changes in the structure of population. It makes use of examples such as disappeared borderline communes, closedown of Sudeten-German companies or their nationalisations. Onward, this writing follows the inefficient level of workers in economically important professions as well as changes in social structuring of society and its standard of living. This thesis draws particularly from archival documents such as State provincial archives Karlovy Vary and Sokolov resident in Jindřichovice as well as unpublished sources of private provenience (recollections, memoirs) and chronicles of described communes in the Karlovy Vary region.
